I've got a small stockroom or warehouse of parts, cleaning supplies, stationery, or other consumable-type items to keep track of — and these aren't the things I buy and sell in my business.

The types of items I'm going to be tracking in this system are:

If each unique type of item I was tracking was given a part number, I figure I'd have about of them in my operation.

By my quick figuring, about percent of my items already have a manufacturer's bar code on them already.

I figure I'm going to need a bar code label printer, to print labels to identify products and/or shelves and bins.

I want to be mobile when I record the receipt, issue, and counting of stockroom items.

I need to keep track of the lot numbers or serial numbers of all or some of the things I'm tracking.

I figure I'll need (quantity) of bar code scanners.
