Preprinted Bar Code Labels and Tags

• The quantity of labels they require are so few (or so sporadically required) that they can't justify purchasing a complete label design and printing system.
• The quantity of labels they need is so great that it would tax their resources too much.
• They would rather let somebody else worry about the quality and be responsible for producing labels and tags.
• The application environment in which the labels or tags are to survive are extreme to the point where only a factory-manufactured product is suited to the task.

Preprinted labels and tags are typically provided in consecutive (sequential) numerical order, although they can also be generated from a supplied database file. Graphics such as a logo are a possibility and most any type of bar code symbology can be printed on them.

• Paper. Most commonly used in the printing of library and video shop labels, or short-term product or other identification labels.
• Synthetics. Materials such as polyester, vinyl, and polypropylene are used to make moderately-durable bar code labels to be affixed to indoor fixed assets, used as long-term product ID labels, or many other uses.
• Anodized Aluminum. This material withstands a substantial amount of abrasion, sunlight, caustic and solvent liquids, and a host of other nasty things! They're typically used to identify fixed assets and equipment that are subjected to harsh environments.
• Specialty Materials. Tags made of stainless steel and labels that will adhere to ceramic items that travel through firing kilns are available from us, as is a unique system that will etch bar code symbols onto any conductive metal (e.g. surgical instruments and tools).
